Tit for tat – Court rules Samsung did not infringe in Tokyo

The case, which was dismissed by Judge Tamotsu Shoji, was not as wide scoping as the U.S case, which ruled in Apple's favour last week, and dealt only with synchronizing technology. Apple has not said whether it will appeal the the decision. Not surprisingly, Samsung agreed with the decision. "We will continue to offer highly innovative products to consumers, and continue our contributions toward the mobile industry's development," a company statement said. The decision was the first in Japan dealing with the two companies, however several other cases dealing with other technology will be held later.
