Philips close down plant in France
Dutch electronics giant Philips will close down its LCD plant in Dreux, France.
Management at the facility notified the employees - in a letter - that they would not need to come to work on Monday morning. The announcement affects around 210 staff at the facility. Philips already implemented restructuring measures and cut backs over the years: in 2005 the layoff of 350 employees was announced; 279 employees followed in 2009.
