Nokia choose Samsung over STMicroelectronics

Nokia has chosen Samsung Electronics over STMicroelectronics as an additional supplier for high-end 5-megapixel CMOS image sensors.

May 13 2008, 2:28 PM
Nokia is currently buying the majority of its entry- and mid-range CMOS image sensors from STMicroelectronics. However, the company purchased its high-end CMOS image sensors for its N-series camera phones from either OmniVision or Aptina. The initial purchase volume of 5-megapixel CMOS image sensors from Samsung is lower than the volumes purchased from OmniVision and Aptina.
