Panasonic: 7000 may leave HQ, 150 to stay

Japanese Panasonic is contemplating massive changes in the light of recent record losses.

According to Marketwatch, the future HQ headcount could be 150 instead of the current 7000. The source for the information is the newspaper Kyodo News. The changes would take effect on Oct 1. The office would be left with enough staff to formulate a management strategy and enough finance staff to keep the company running. Most of the employees would be transfered to other positions within the company or volontarely retire.
