  Many companies are taking the topic of sustainability very seriously. They are racing to introduce new solutions, while customers often consider the company's environmental policy when choosing a contractor. Schneider Electric has a similar approach, placing great emphasis on eco-design.

  But how do you implement sustainability projects? Using examples at Schneider Electric, Nicolas Ortiou will talk about how to implement ecodesigns with a particular focus on electronics.

  Nodeus Solutions embodies the vision of Pierre Laffite, founder of Sophia Antipolis, by addressing a key societal challenge: Europe's aging population. Drawing on advanced research in geriatrics, AI, wireless technology, and low-energy components, the company developed an innovative IoT system (sensors, a smart hub, and a mobile app) to monitor the wellbeing and daily activities of seniors living alone.
  
  Backed by local and European funding, including support from FantastIC, Nodeus Solutions gained recognition at CES Las Vegas 2022, where industry leader Marco Landi endorsed the project. The Kokoon-IA system, currently in live trials across 40 homes, uses non-intrusive, wearable-free sensors and AI to learn user habits, evolve over time, and detect early signs of vulnerability.
  
  In this presentation, Pierre Servettaz and Marie Emmanuelle will share insights into the project’s journey, the technical and financial support from FantastIC, and how Kokoon-IA is paving the way for smarter, safer aging at home.

  The lecture will therefore focus on issues such as Component Recovery, Laser Reballing, Retinning, Test Services, that is, services which involve giving a second life to electronic components that would otherwise be discarded, turning potential waste into valuable resources.

  Despite slow growth in the global automotive market, the mid-term outlook remains positive for semiconductor devices, projecting a significant increase from approximately 834 devices per car in 2023 to 1,106 by 2029. This growth is primarily fueled by the increasing implementation of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) and vehicle electrification. Although semiconductor supply has improved compared to recent years, it remains a major concern, with Original Equipment Manufacturers' (OEMs) strategies varying across different industry segments and regions. Consequently, to overcome the limitations of traditionally distributed systems, automakers have begun centralizing functions into fewer, more powerful Electronic Control Units (ECUs). While this centralization simplifies wiring and enhances performance, it introduces new challenges in managing these more complex systems.
