BenQ sells business to its subsidiary

BenQ to sell mold factory to its subsidiary Darfon Electronics.

BenQ will sell its mold factory located in northern Taiwan to subsidiary Darfon Electronics for a total price of $15.3 million, with the transaction to be completed by the end of September 2007, according to BenQ's filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange on August 10. According to DigiTimes BenQ, through its subsidiary Qisda (L) Corporation, will also sell all off its stake in GPM Holding Corporation Limited to Darfon (Labuan) Corporation, Darfon's wholly owned subsidiary, BenQ indicated. Through the deal, Darfon will acquire Gallant Precisions (Suzhou), GPM Holding's subsidiary maker of precision molds in eastern China, BenQ noted.
