Foxconn to develop TD-SCDMA phones
EMS provider Foxconn said it will develop TD-SCDMA phones.
The mobile phone technology, the TD-SCDMA standard is expected to be in use in the next year. Foxconn has reported that it will start developing mobile handsets for this technology.
The TD-SCDMA technology is the next standard for mobile broadband in China and Foxconn is now taking the opportunity for releasing its own-branded mobile handset for this technology.
"Right now our research and development of TD-SCMA devices is in its initial stages. But we already have a few clients who have expressed interest in TD cell phones," Foxconn spokesman Vincent Tong said by phone from the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen.
