EU clears aid for nine LCD plants in Poland

The European Commission cleared 206.1 million euros in Polish state aid for nine Korean-owned electronics facilities.

Poland plans to grant the aid to allow eight Korean companies to set up a cluster of nine LCD plants in the city of Kobierzyce. The total investment of this project is worth 711.1 million euros. The Korean companies involved in the project are LG Philips LCD Poland, Ohsung (Dong Seo), Lucky SMT Poland, Dong Yang Electronics Poland, Heesung Electronics Poland, LG Chem Poland, LG Innotek Poland, and LG Electronics Wroclaw, local media reports.
