Cepheid acquires Sangtec for $27M
Cepheid a broad-based molecular diagnostics company has acquired Sangtec Molecular Diagnostics AB for about $27 million.
Sangtec is based in Bromma, Sweden, the company develops and manufactures PCR-based molecular diagnostics products. Sangtec has 59 employees and reported revenue in 2006 of about $8 million. Cepheid plans to integrate the Sangtec diagnostic kits targeted at the immunocompromised market into its existing European and U.S. portfolio of in vitro diagnostic products.
