Another year of growth for BB Electronics

2018 was a successful year for Danish EMS provider, BB Electronics, with solid top line growth and improved profitability.

The company says in an update that the successful year provides them with the opportunity to expand BB’s palette of services. Just last month BB Electronics acquired a new factory in the Czech Republic. “We are following our long-term plan for the development and growth of BB Electronics, and the good results of recent years mean that we can remain ambitious in our goals,” says CEO Carsten Christensen, in the update.. Growth in 2018 came from both BB Electronics’ Chinese factory in Suzhou and from the headquarters in Horsens, Denmark, and the positive development is expected to continue in 2019, when the newly acquired factory in the Czech Republic will also contribute to the development. BB Electronics recorded revenues of DKK 560 million (EUR 75 million) during 2018 with a profit after taxes of DKK 25 million (EUR 3.34 million). Revenues during 2017 amounted to DKK 460 million (EUR 61.62 million) with a profit after taxes of DKK 19 million (EUR 2.54 million). "It is important for us to develop with the needs of our customers. We have several customers who outsource a larger share of their production and logistics, while focusing on, e.g., product development and sales. Therefore, to a greater extent, we take care of the customers’ needs for box build, configuration and distribution to their customers. We see it as a natural development in our business model," Carsten Christensen adds. The Danish manufacturer employs about 680 employees, most of whom are based in China. However, the company states that employment will increase in the factories in both the Czech Republic and Denmark during 2019.
