The final nail in the coffin – goodbye Galaxy Note 7

The issues with the phones catching fire due to battery cell issues proved to be to much for Samsung to handle – according to reports the company is now discontinuing production of the Galaxy Note 7, permanently.

In a statement to news site, Engadget, Samsung said that it has "permanently discontinued" production of the Galaxy Note 7. And in an official statement on the company site, the South Korean company informs that it will ask all global partners to stop both sales and exchanges of the device while further investigation takes place. “We are working with relevant regulatory bodies to investigate the recently reported cases involving the Galaxy Note7. Because consumers’ safety remains our top priority, Samsung will ask all carrier and retail partners globally to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note7 while the investigation is taking place,” the company writes in the statement.
