LG Philips reports sales and output<br>increase despite production stop

The LG Philips Displays Czech factory increased its sales and output through January-May 2006.

The LG Philips Displays Czech factory had an output of 838,000 displays in January to May. That is an increase of 5,000 units from the same period last year. "The Hranice plant managed to increase production volume despite the fact that it had to stop production at the beginning of the year for four days due to the bankruptcy of its Dutch parent company LG.Philips Displays Holding," spokeswoman Zuzana Fojtikova said in the statement. "Since March, both production and sales have been higher than last year," LG.Philips CEO Phil Styles said Styles. "We managed to adjust to market requirements. In recent weeks we have modified our production lines and we are concentrating on production of the most demanded models with 28 and 29 inch diagonal," said Styles.
