Saab signs cooperation agreement with WZL2

Saab has signed a cooperation agreement with Polish Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze No. 2 in Bydgoszcz (WZL2).

Under the agreement, Saab and WZL2 will jointly promote the offer of upgrade of MiG-29 airplanes belonging to the Polish Air Force by fitting them with countermeasure dispensers. The agreement also enables further cooperation in the upgrade of other systems used by the Polish Air Force. The currently intensive usage of MiG-29 airplanes during missions home and abroad indicates that it might be necessary to fit them with modern electronic warfare equipment. Saab electronic warfare systems (EW) were designed to enable the pilots to achieve a high situational awareness by the capability of detecting, locating and identifying radar threats. WZL No. 2, which is responsible for the maintenance of Polish Air Force airplanes, is one of the largest aviation industry facilities in Poland.
