Foxconn to produce 'Pepper'

When Softbank starts selling its personal robot next year, Foxconn will also be in on the deal.

As of February next year (2015), Japan's SoftBank Corp will start selling human-like robots for personal use. The robots are envisioned to serve as baby-sitters, nurses, emergency medical workers (hm!) or even party companions (very hm!), etc. The little helpers are even capable of learning and expressing emotions. To get his vision off the ground, Softbank partnered with French robotics company Aldebaran; the latter being responsible for the development. Taiwan headquartered Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd. - aka Foxconn - will have the manufacturing contracts in hand, media reports state.
