A circuit board modeled after the human brain

Bioengineers at Stanford University, have developed new microchips based on the human brain. We're talking about something that is 9'000 times faster – and more energy-efficient – than a regular PC.

The research open possibilities for more advances in robotics, computing, also, it provides new insights in understanding the brain. For example, a chip – as fast and efficient as the human brain – could drive prosthetic limbs with the speed and complexity of our own actions.
