TriQuint to cut 200 jobs
TriQuint Semiconductor Inc. has decided to exit their opto module business.
The company aims to eliminate approximately $18 million of annual costs. That includes a reduction in workforce of some 110 employees in Pennsylvania and some 90 employees in Mexiko. TriQuint´s business focus is, from now on, set on indium phosphide (InP) components, chips, sub-assemblies and technologies. The company forecasts that when the restructuring is completed in mid-2005 the business will be at or near breakeven.
