Strong earthquake off the coast of Japan - tsunami warning issued

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS) a quake of magnitude 7.3 occurred 150 miles mil southeast of Kamaishi.

A warning for an initial tsunami wave of one meter was issued for the coast of Miyagi Prefecture in northeastern Japan, the same area that was hit by the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami, writes Reuters. No irregularities or problems have been reported from the operator of the Fukushima nuclear plant, Tokyo ElectricPower Co., the report contiues.
