2012 will be tougher says Samsung CEO
Samsung Electronics Chief Executive Choi Gee-sung hopes to increase the company's hardware competitiveness despite increasing competition in 2012.
Choi was quoted in a statement by Samsung at at the company's annual meeting of shareholders.
"Reorganization of the electronics industry will gain speed this year and global competition will intensify. Samsung Electronics will look for opportunities to take new steps forward," Choi said.
Choi said the company intends to enhance its competitiveness in hardware, and focus on new businesses including medical equipment.
