Unbalanced PCB market in August 2011

Turnover for German PCB manufacturer in August 2011 was the 3rd highest of the last ten years, reports the industry association ZVEI PCB and Electronic Systems.

Compared to July 2011 as well as August 2010, turnover increased - in both cases - 2%. Cumulatively for 2011, turnover increased 14 percent compared to 2010. The order intake - again - declined sharply. The uncertain global economic situation was reflected in a tentative order placing. In August, the 2nd lowest level was recorded (for the past 12 months). When it comes to a 10 year comparison, the 3rd lowest result was recorded. © ZVEI Nevertheless, order backlog is still high. In contrast to previous years, additional orders were not cancelled, but merely postponed. This is also reflected in the higher than average turnover. The book-to-bill ratio reached a value of 0.75. The number of employees increased slightly compared to July 2011. Compared with August 2010, numbers increased by 5.5 percent. However, figures are still lower than those recorded for pre-crisis 2008.
