Rising prices on flux expected
Kester will reportedly hike its prices on fluxes, thinners and other chemical products.
The rising prices is a result of rising costs for raw materials used in the chemical manufacturing. Kester announced that the prices on the chemicals used in their processes have hiked 100% since the beginning of 2004. For the last year the raw material costs have rised 64%.
"Kester has tried to hold off on this price adjustment for months, but the petroleum-based products do not appear to be rebounding to 2003 levels", said Dave Torp, vice president of marketing and business development, to Circuitsassembly.
