AMD with more chip orders for TSMC
AMD has reportedly hiked its orders to foundry TSMC for its 40nm chips.
Furthermore, it is said that the US-based chip company is planning to secure all new capacity at the 12-inch fab from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (TSMC). Reason is apparently the prevention of supply shortages, reports DigiTimes. This in turn is attributed to a strong demand for AMD's Zacate and Ontario CPU's in Europe and the US.
