Benchmark produces for Mcor
The EMS-provider Benchmark Electronics has secured a new manufacturing contract from Ireland-based Mcor Technologies.
The company has recently launched a new 3D printer (the Matrix 300), which is said to print detailed 3D models on plain A4 paper. “We’re up to 50% less expensive than the competition in terms of running costs,” the Mcor marketing director Deirdre MacCormack told the Irish Times. Mcor Technologies, which currently employs 10 staff, intended to produce the hardware itself, but has now outsourced the manufacturing to the Irish operations of EMS-provider Benchmark Electronics. The company sells its products mainly in the UK and Ireland. However, talks with several larger distributors are already under way.
