Asustek to transfer capacity to China
Taiwan's largest motherboard maker Asustek intends to move production capacity from Taiwan to China.
About 1000 jobs in Taiwan are planned to be laid off. The production capacity will be transfered to the company's yet-to-be finished plant in Shanghai. The new site in Shanghai has costed Asustek about $1.5 billion in investments so far.
The company is though planning recruitments of about 1000 people. Theese will be added to Asustek's marketing and sales division.
