Ericsson: 1000 to go in Sweden

Ericsson has issued pink slips to 1000 employees in its Swedish operations.
Ericsson disclosed that 800 staff will be laid off in Stockholm, 100 in Hudiksvall (Central Sweden), 40 in Karlskrona and 30 in Luleå (North Sweden). As reported earlier, the mobile phone giant announced to reduce Swedish staff numbers during 2009.

This layoff wave is part of the restructuring scheme that Ericsson announced last week.
