"Time to market" behind Note's mechanics operations

Note Components is investing in a mechanics company to step up "time to market"

The EMS-provider Note in Järfälla, West of Stockholm, Sweden chooses to go for complete solutions in which both the electronics and mechanics are included. Customers, including the nuclear and telecommunication’s industries, have high requirements in mechanical precision. Note is counting on a highly advanced machinery for demanding mechanical processing. The most common material in mechanical components is aluminium, notably for housings for base stations and microwave filter. To stay competitive, the company has chosen to qualify a large number of subcontractors in China and Poland, but stresses the importance of local production to quickly reach the market. At the same time, 80% of production costs are made up of material costs, which is why subcontractors in low-wage countries are important.
