Diagnose and characterize embedded systems in correlated radio, analog and digital domains
Tadeusz Asyngier - Tektronix | Tespol

Diagnosing and troubleshooting embedded systems often requires observing signals across multiple domains—digital, analog, RF, and modulation. Only complete time correlation between these domains allows for the isolation of potential issues, such as determining whether a theoretically correct (from a protocol standpoint) command to retune the carrier frequency of an RF signal and transmit a modulated digital signal over the radio layer, intended to perform a specific function in the system, was actually executed properly—and whether the system fulfilled the designer’s functional expectations.

For decades, engineers have relied on specialized measurement instruments—such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers—synchronizing them via triggering to maintain temporal correlation. However, the barrier has always been the high total cost of such a system and the lack of fully integrated visualization of time-correlated waveforms across different domains.

A solution to this problem is the concept of the MDO (Mixed Domain Oscilloscope), introduced by Tektronix and developed over the past decade. During the presentation, Tadeusz Asyngier will explain how such a device works and highlight practical ways to use it in the embedded system design cycle.

  • 12:25 - 12:55
Component Reclaim – a green solution for the electronic industry
Gary Moffat - European Sales Manager - Retronix

In electronics the circular economy embodies strategies to extend product lifecycles & promote reuse. Factronix is a company that has extensive experience in this field, so during the speech it will talk about what related services are important and why.

The lecture will therefore focus on issues such as Component Recovery, Laser Reballing, Retinning, Test Services, that is, services which involve giving a second life to electronic components that would otherwise be discarded, turning potential waste into valuable resources.

  • 13:00 - 14:00
    Everything can be hacked
Piotr Konieczny - CEO - Niebezpiecznik

In an era of growing digital threats, cybersecurity is more critical than ever in safeguarding data, infrastructure, and businesses. But this raises an important question: is any system truly secure, or can every security measure be breached?

In this presentation, cybersecurity expert Piotr Konieczny will explore real-world cyberattack scenarios, revealing how hackers bypass security systems and exploit unexpected vulnerabilities. As the founder of Niebezpiecznik, Poland’s leading cybersecurity website, he will shed light on the most common mistakes companies make and outline practical and effective strategies to defend against cyber threats.

This presentation isn’t just for cybersecurity professionals. Engineers, managers, and anyone concerned about protecting their personal or corporate data will gain valuable insights into how to strengthen their defences and better protect their data and systems.

  • 14:00 - 14:30
    Q&A with Piotr Konieczny
Piotr Konieczny - CEO - Niebezpiecznik

For more than 16 years, Piotr Konieczny has been a leading voice in cybersecurity, sharing his expertise with people and companies alike. He has worked with major Polish and international companies, helping them strengthen their network security and protect against cyber threats. As the founder of Niebezpiecznik, Poland’s largest cybersecurity website, he has played a key role in raising awareness and educating the public on online safety.During the Q&A session, attendees will have a rare opportunity to engage directly with an expert in the field. Whether it’s about emerging threats, best security practices, or industry trends, Piotr will be there to answer questions and share his insights.

  • 14:35 - 15:15
Top 20 of Europe’s defence industry: Where the money, technology and influence are
Ewelina Bednarz - Global Content Manager - Evertiq

Evertiq has repeatedly reported on the growing geopolitical tensions and the ongoing war in Ukraine — developments that have significantly changed, and continue to reshape, the landscape of Europe’s defence industry. That is why we have decided to present a ranking of the 20 most important defence companies in Europe — those setting the direction of development, attracting the largest contracts, and shaping the future of security on the Old Continent. We will look not only at the numbers, but also at the growing role of advanced technologies — from electronics to cybersecurity solutions. Particular attention will be given to those companies which, beyond manufacturing hardware, are actively building Europe’s digital shield.

Workshop

  • 09:00 - 09:30
Efficient BLDC Motor Control Using the New PSoC Control Microcontroller Family
David Hoskins - Field Application Engineer - Infineon Polska
  • 11:00 - 12:30
    Oscilloscope Measurement Workshop
Janusz Kostyra - Measurement Equipment Specialists - AM Technologies
Stefan Misztal - Measurement Equipment Specialists - AM Technologies

During the workshop, participants will become familiar with the architecture, measurement capabilities, and key technical parameters of modern digital oscilloscopes. They will also conduct measurements independently.

The workshop consists of two parts:

    • Introductory Lecture – covering architecture, key parameters, and operating modes.
    • Hands-on Session – using an oscilloscope and a built-in signal generator to acquire signals, perform measurements, and analyze the collected data.
  • 13:00 - 14:30
Diagnosing and characterizing embedded systems in correlated radio, analog, and digital domains.
Tadeusz Asyngier - Tektronix Senior Application Engineer - Tespol Sp. z o.o.

Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues in embedded systems often requires observing signals across various domains (digital, analog, RF, and modulation). Only complete time correlation between these domains allows for isolating potential problems — for example, verifying whether a theoretically correct command (protocol-wise) to retune the RF carrier frequency and transmit a modulated digital signal over the radio layer, which is intended to trigger a specific function in the system, was properly executed and whether the system met the designer's functional expectations.

For decades, engineers have relied on specialized measurement instruments (such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, or spectrum analyzers), using cross-triggering to maintain time correlation between them. However, the high overall cost of such systems and the lack of full integration of time-synchronized signal visualization across different domains have been significant barriers.

A solution to this challenge is the concept of the MDO (Mixed Domain Oscilloscope), introduced by Tektronix and developed over the past decade. During the presentation, the author will explain how such a device works and demonstrate practical ways to use it in the development cycle of embedded systems.
