Sony to downsize French operations

Sony has decided to close down one of its plants in France and to heavily downsize another plant in the country.
Sony France SA plans to close its manufacturing site in Aquitaine, France. The company also plans to remove a staff force of 230 at its plant in Alsace. The site in Aquitaine has 331 employees and is specialized in magnetic tapes production. The site in Alsace mainly produces consumer electronics.
