Seiko Epson closes UK lab
Japan based Seiko Epson Corp. has closed its Cambridge Research Laboratory in the UK.
Seiko Epson did close the office last week and laid off the entire staff force according to the OSA Direct Newsletter.
Epson (UK) Ltd. and its parent company Seiko Epson Corporation jointly formed this research laboratory in Cambridge in 1998. The laboratory developed and improved thin film transistors (TFT) used in liquid crystal displays (LCD). The laboratory did also investigate light-emitting polymer (LEP) for the development of optical electronics.
