French semi market up 7.8 % in Q2

According to Sitelesc, the French Electronic Tube and Semiconductor Industry Guild, powered by the development within discrete and IC, the French semiconductor market rose 7.8 percent from the first to the second quarter 2007. ICs increased by 9.0 percent, discrete semiconductors grew by 1.5 percent on a sequential basis. A comparative study per application sectors highlights a relative stability, noted the Sitelesc. The best-represented application sectors are computing, with a 20-percent market share, distribution, with an 18-percent, and automotive, with a 17-percent market share. In comparison the telecommunications declined by 43.3 percent and computing declined by 25.8 percent in the first quarter.
