Major orders to Compeq from Apple

Taiwanese PCB maker Compeq will manufacture rigid-flex PCBs for Apple's iPods.

According to DigiTimes Taiwan-based Compeq Manufacturing will start producing rigid-flex PCBs for Apple iPods in small volumes in August. Shipments would ramp up in September. According to the same sources Compeq has also received validation for high density interconnect (HDI) and rigid-flex PCBs for Apple's iPhone series. Compeq declined to comment on any new orders, but the sources said the rigid-flex PCB segment is expected to account for 15% of the company's third-quarter revenues, up from less than 10% for the first half of the year.
