University of Lyon opens Nanotechnology center
Two local engineering schools and University of Lyon has established a nanotechnology center in Lyon, France.
As a fundamental and applied research laboratory, INL aims to conduct R&D activities in the areas of semiconductors, microelectronics, telecommunications, energy, health, biology, industrial control, defense and environment. The research and development will be focused on four main topics: materials, electronics, photonics and photovoltaics, as well as biotechnology and health.
The electronics part of the research operations will focus on modelling and designing silicon–based micro- and nanostructures for MEMS and NEMS, as well as ultimate and post-CMOS components.
