Simclar buys UP Mex

Simclar targets €370m (£265m) sales after UP Mex acquisition.

SIMCLAR Group, has acquired UPMex, a loss-making firm in Preston, UK, in an undisclosed deal that will give it access to key patents and help broaden its base. UPMex was formed in 2003 by Mike Hallmark with the purchase of Unit Press out of receivership. UPMex presently employs 150 people and is committed to the excellent design & manufacture of chair mechanisms. The Simclar Group of companies, is an integrated co-manufacturing group, with facilities in Europe, the US and China. Simclar has 2500 employees worldwide in 16 plants support a host of projects for international electronics-related companies. Simclar serves sector such as electronics ,biotech, defense ,automotive and security.
