Celestica in collaboration with Intel

EMS provider Celestica released its OBSAI (Open Base Station Architecture Initiative) compliant WiMAX 802.16 Base Station and Remote Radio Head (RRH). The offering, collaboratively developed with Intel.
The Base Station and Remote Radio Head will provide Celestica's customers in the communications, industrial and military sectors with an easily customizable solution that enables them to shrink their product design cycle and achieve full lifecycle solutions at the lowest total cost and fastest time-to-market.

OBSAI is an industry initiative driven by base station vendors, module and component manufacturers. It defines a basic modular architecture and detailed specifications for internal interfaces between modules and aims to create an open market for cellular base stations. As an OBSAI member, Celestica has created a Base Station and Remote Radio Head to help its customers realize the full benefit of this standard in the telecommunications market.
