Bourns transferring from Ireland to Hungary
US-based automotive firm Bourns Electronics has decided to transfer its operations from Ireland to Hungary and Mexico. 80 jobs will be lost.
Bourns Electronics has been in Cork for 26 years. They cited global competition and increased manufacturing costs in Ireland for its decision. Only 10 jobs will remain at the Cork facility. The plant will be fully closed during next year.
