Excellon Automation and XACT PCB offer first public showing of the Intelli-Drill® system combined with Gemini-X software for the control and prediction of PCB registration at the IPC/APEX convention. With the continued drive for higher layer printed circuit boards manufactured in ever shorter lead-times, the ability to accurately predict and control inner layer registration has become increasingly critical to all companies involved in high technology PCB manufacture. The combination of XACT's suite of PCB registration solutions and the capabilities of Excellon's Intelli-Drill results in a new level of registration control and prediction of both linear and non-linear distortion, according to a press statement. XACT's Gemini-X product provides accurate prediction of inner layer scale distortion at CAM and links to advanced post-lamination optimizers to continuously improve scale factor prediction and control.
