TTems and BAE Systems form alliance

UK-based TTems enters a strategic alliance with BAE Systems to become a supplier of choice for Printed Circuit Board Assembly supply.

TTems will also be part of BAE Systems' Supply Chain Excellence Programme. TTems, a subsidiary of global electronic manufacturing group TT electronics plc, has worked with BAE Systems since early 2003 when the company secured a contract to manufacture PCBAs used in NLAW (Next Generation Light Anti Armour Weapon) applications. BAE Systems and TTems will work closely together to understand the requirements of BAE Systems' customers and produce and supply PCBAs capable of meeting those needs. Additionally, both parties have combined expertise and resources to reduce PCBA costs in order for BAE Systems to meet the necessary targets to increase its IMU market share. The contracts represent a total of seven assemblies for TTems, including five flexi-rigid, one flexi and one rigid. The company provides a range of services to BAE Systems, including PCB layout, SMT and hand assembly, optical inspection, in-circuit test, and flying probe testing on development boards.
