BenQ to open LCD-plant in Czech Republic

BenQ plans to construct a LCD screen factory in Brno, Czech Republic.
The local promoter CTP Invest told news agency AFP that BenQ is preparing a site that is planned to be ready by mid 2007. The new plant, which will be housing 700 workers, will have eight assembly lines capable of producing nearly one million LCD-screens per year. This was reported by local media aktualne.cz.
