Chip sales grew more than expected in May

Chip sales grew 9.4 percent in May, which was ahead of expectations.
Worldwide chip sales reached $19.75 billion in May and thereby grew by 9.4 percent from May 2005 and by 0.7 percent from April 2006.

In June the experts from SIA raised their forecast for 2006 worldwide sales growth from 7.9 percent to 9.8 percent.
