Helukabel opens a new branch in Portugal

Helukabel has opened a new branch in Portugal, its 26th branch worldwide.

Cables and wires, predominantly for industrial applications, from conventional control cables to highly flexible data cables, will soon be stored in a 600 square metre warehouse in Coimbra, located between the industrial centres of Lisbon and Porto. The branch will initially be run by a sales and logistics team of four employees. Eduardo Soares, director of the branch: “There is a thriving electrical industry in Portugal, and developments in the mechanical engineering and renewable energy industries are also very promising. Applications in these industries are increasingly becoming more sophisticated, which is in turn making the requirements on cables and connection technology higher as well. Helukabel’s top-quality, internationally certified products, together with our local service network, will allow us to perfectly meet these increasing demands.” Marc Luksch, Managing Director at Helukabel: “Portugal is an interesting market for us. We believe that the positive economic growth from the last two years will continue over the long term. We need to be close to the customers in order to have a better understanding of the local requirements. Furthermore, our customers in African countries where the official language is Portuguese, such as Mozambique, Angola or Cape Verde, will benefit from our local presence in Portugal.” Tripling the floor space in South Africa The Helukabel branch in South Africa moved to a new location in order to offer an even wider range of products to its local customers. The move to the new location on the outskirts of Johannesburg has tripled the branch’s floor space. They are now storing cables and wires for the African market in a storage space measuring over 4'000 square metres. New location in the Netherlands The Helukabel branch in the Netherlands has moved to a new location near Eindhoven. This has doubled the number of pallet bays to more than 2'200. Helukabel will use the extra storage space to meet the increased demands in particular for country-specific products.
