PNC Inc. acquires new horizontal oxide line

New Jersey based PCB manufacturer, PNC Inc., has purchased a new Horizontal Conveyorized CO-BRA BOND In-line Oxide Replacement line from IPS (Integrated Process Systems).

The machine is capable of coating 100 panels per hour to help expedite the inner layer treatment process. Compared to the previous process of manual dip tanks, the Oxide Replacement line is far more efficient due to automation. By using fewer heaters, the new unit is more energy efficient as well. The CO-BRA BOND solution by OM Group consists of a peroxide/sulfuric solution that enhances adhesion of dielectric to copper surfaces, before the multi-layer lamination process. “The collaborative effort from IPS and OM Group attests to our continuous pledge to improvement and quality,” says PNC Quality Manager Calvin Switzer. “We are able to produce improved bonding of layers and accelerate the completion of the multilayer process. This unit helps cut down lead times without compromising quality.”
