August sales surpass last year's figures

German PCB manufacturers recorded the highest August sales figures since the pre-crisis year 2008, reported the Industry Association ZVEI PCB and Electronic Systems.
The sequential increase amounts to 3.1 percent. YTD, sales increased 2.9 percent compared to the corresponding period last year. This positive development is particularly important in light of summer holidays, which were overlapping in all federal states for two weeks.

Since the order intake for July was unusually high, the sequential decline of 20 percent in August comes as no surprise. Compared to August 2013, order intake grew by 13 percent. YTD, order intake increased 10.3 percent compared to the corresponding period 2013.

The book-to-bill ratio fell to 0.98. The number of employees increased by 2.8 percent compared to the same month of 2013.
