Samsung TVs made in Tashkent
Uzbek electronics manufacturer Zenith Electronics has started production of LED TVs for South Korean electronics giant Samsung.
According to media reports, Zenith Electronics - formed in 2004 after the bankrupt of electronics company UzDEUElektronik - will produce 400 32-inch devices per day. However, 40-inch TVs are soon to follow. By 2017, Zenith Electronics and its workforce of 250 aim to have an annual production of 75'000 TV sets.
The Tashkent-based company has been cooperating with Samsung since 2011 and is now said to have invested around USD 3 million to set up production for the new devices.
