PCB market strengthens in April 2013

Order intake for German PCB manufacturers increased in April for the 3rd consecutive month.


Figures are 5.7 percent higher than those recorded for April 2012. However, April 2013 had - with 21 work days - 2 more than April 2012, reports the German ZVEI-Fachverband PCB and Electronic Systems. Cumulative turnover also increased; figures now stand only 1.5 percent lower than those recorded for 2013 (The first 4 months had the same number of work days: 83). Order intake increased significantly - with 18.5 percent - compared to April 2012. YTD, order intake increased 3.9 percent, a number that corresponds to the 10-year average. Especially companies that specialize in prototypes noticed an increasing demand. The book-to-bill ratio increases steadily in small increments since the beginning of the year and reached 0.99. The number of employees fell by 5.7 percent, due to structural adjustments.
