Frits Philips passed away at the age of 100

Dr. Ir. F.J. (Frits) Philips, died on december 5, 2005. He was a hundred years old. Frits Philips served the company from 1930 until 1977; between 1961 and 1971 as CEO of the company. His commitment to the company lasted a lifetime.

Frits Philips will be laid to rest at a private ceremony attended by members of his family on Monday 12 December 2005 in Eindhoven. A memorial service will be held at the Frits Philips Music Center at 11 a.m., for which the doors will be open from 10 a.m. for those wishing to pay their respects. From today until after the memorial people can register their condolences at the Frits Philips Music Center and the Town Hall in Eindhoven. "In Frits Philips we lose a warm and committed man, spirited entrepreneur, who lived his life to the full, and who was intensively involved with Philips and the world outside", says Gerard Kleisterlee, President and CEO of Royal Philips Electronics.
