"fab-lite" means no more wafer fabs for Infineon
The German semiconductor supplier Infineon will stop building plants after reaching 90 nm.
Infineon's CEO Wolfgang Ziebart revealed this strategy which Infineon calls "fab-lite". New fabs for smaller geometries than 90 nm will be too expensive, according a statement Ziebart gave in an EETimes interview.
In the interview Ziebart stated that Infineon will continue its operations at the company's existing facilities in Germany, France and Malaysia.
