Flextronics stops Blackberry production in Penang

Flextronics will stop manufacturing BlackBerry phones in Penang, Malaysia, according to a local media report.
The Business Times reports that the company's decision will not impact operations in Penang too negatively, with no layoffs expected.

Flextronics's president of High Velocity Solutions, Mike Dennison, told investors in May that the company's relationship with RIM would be reduced.

RIM did not comment directly on the matter to the Business Times, but confirmed that they are making changes to the supply chain to improve the RIM's operations.
