Scanfil EMS Oy to lay-off approximately 90 staff

The company began statutory employer-employee negotiations regarding buisness restructuring at its Sievi plant two days ago. In a stock exchange release, the company said it estimates the planned measures will result in changes in duties and operations, resulting in lay-offs of approximately 90 workers, clerical employees, and professional and managerial staff. ”The reason for the negotiations is the low profitability of the Sievi plant and the resulting need for adjusting and reorganising the unit’s operations in order to ensure the prerequisites for operating in a financially profitable way,” said the company's statement.
