Vacon to cut 45 jobs

Vacon, a Finnish manufacturer of AC drives, will reduce its white collar workforce by 45.
The announcement today follows personnel negotiations started on 19 December 2011.

The company said it willl terminate 19 employees, not extend 13 fixed-term contracts and terminate 13 jobs through voluntery arrangments.

An agreement was also reached on an option for temporary lay-offs for a total of 20 working days that can be taken during April-December of 2012 as well as on an option for temporary lay-offs for a maximum of 10 working days during the first quarter of 2013.

Vacon has 750 employees in Vaasa, Tampere and Vantaa.
