Komax achieves sales growth while solar struggles
The Komax Group achieved sales growth in the fiscal year 2011, however the Solar business unit struggled.
New orders totaled CHF 380.4 million (+7%), while revenues rose 9% to around CHF 370 million. Full annual financial statements and the company's annual report will be published on 20 March.
The company said in a press release that the solar business unit struggled due to major excess capacity and an accelerating slide in solar module prices. With the resulting decline in industry, some manufacturers had trouble making payments, resulting in a huge drop in new orders and revenues at Komax Solar during the second half of the year.
