Foxconn to enter solar market
The Taiwanese EMS-giant Foxconn is to set up a solar-module plant in China’s eastern province Jiangsu.
The manufacturing facility is said to be close to Suntech Power Holdings Co. (STP) headquarters, reports Bloomberg.
Foxconn is to begin trial production in May, according to a statement made by the government of Funing county, where the plant will be. Foxconn is to invest USD 30 million to establish Fuyu Energy Technology (Funing) Co. The capacity of the facility - which is to produce solar cells - has not been specified.
